Helen Evans works and teaches in her large, open, and airy, purpose-built studio set on 9 beautiful rural acres in Cedar Creek. Her current practice is concerned with her immediate environment, her garden and the landscape around her home. Helen paints in acrylic on board and canvas Drawing from life an important part of her practice.
Helen runs weekly art classes for adults with a back to basics drawing and painting programme. She also tutors students who are pursuing their own practice. She has experience in most media and is happy to facilitate occasional specialist workshops. She is available for offsite workshops on request.
Helen is originally from the North East or England and spent over a decade in Bermuda before settling in Cedar Creek. She has been a practising artist since completing her BA (hons)Textiles/Fashion and MA Textiles at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in the USA, Canada, The Caribbean, UK, Bermuda, Europe, Russia and Australia, and can be found in private, corporate and public collections.
