Christina Walker was born in a small town in Germany and lives now in an equally small town in Queensland, Australia. In-between she managed a Bed and Breakfast in France where she met lots of interesting people. Influenced by living in different countries and by extensive traveling, overcoming adversity and uncertainty, she feels compelled to share her experiences: she paints, draws, writes and takes photos.
The overreaching theme in her work are emotions and feelings and the expression of it. She believes that everything deserves a second glance, that life is too precious to ignore or waste. Thus nature, animals and the human face and figure are prominent in her art. Christina confidently uses mixed media like charcoal with pastels, acrylic and pens, inks with collage and monoprints. Strong lines, a certain looseness and intensity are recurring style elements. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes serious, often both at the same time.
Her work has been shown in galleries in Brisbane and Melbourne.
