As a child Catherine drew constantly. She was never without a pencil and drawing pad and no tree, leaf or animal could escape artistic capture. However as she grew older ‘adulting’ got in the way and her creative pursuits inevitably took a back seat.
In Dec 2020 Catherine was diagnosed with Cancer. Like many people who receive this type of diagnosis, it forced her to pull back, slow down and review what was important to her and what she needed to do to get through. She decided to return to what gave her joy as a child and so the second act of her creative adventure began.
Catherine loves colour, travel and nature. Her work reflects these three themes and most of her work is accompanied by a story detailing the inspiration behind each piece.
While she enjoys experimenting with different mediums much of her work is drawn using charcoal, pen and pencil or digitally on her ipad.
