I have been a practising artist for the majority of my professional career. I am very lucky to have 2 studios, The Art Train in Samford Village and The Studio Shed at my home in Cedar Creek. I teach art to adults and children at The Train with term time and school holiday programs. Details of classes can be found on my website.
During my career I have worked in many mediums from textiles, gouache, printmaking, acrylic to wax. My current practice is realised in acrylic painting or encaustic. Encaustic is an ancient technique involving the application of layers of hot wax. During 2016/2017 I have been working on a 365 project with one A6 encaustic postcard produced for each day of the year. Through this project I have been able to explore the medium extensively whilst utilising a wide variety of techniques. Many of these pieces are concerned with identity and place. My acrylic works on board are still life and abstracted landscape, with a particular concern for layers and colour.
